Luke specializes in the research and application of learning golf. He is especially interested in junior development programs and ways to make the game more intuitive for adults. Luke’s passion is learning (and teaching) the golf swing. He’s currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Minnesota where he is studying kinematic sequencing and motor learning. In the very near future he’s going to begin research at the Minnesota Golf Academy for his thesis. Contact Luke if you’re interested in taking part!

Luke is a TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) golf fitness expert and has 7 years of experience as a full time instructor and coach. Luke has coached the St. Olaf Women’s Golf team since 2006. The Oles are the 2-time defending MIAC champs under Benoit’s leadership and finished 9th at the NCAA Championship in 2012.

In his spare time, Luke enjoys travelling. In 2009-2010, he spent a winter in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan, where he designed a golf course, coached the Bhutan National Golf team, and won the 2009 Bhutan Open (the highest national open in the world: elevation 9,000 ft!).

As a player, Luke was a 3-time All American at Gustavus Adolphus College and has won more than 15 tournaments as a professional in MN and on various mini tours. In 2011, Luke finished tied for 2nd in the Minnesota Club Professionals Championship. As an accomplished player who has benefited tremendously from the guidance of others, Luke strongly believes in the value of finding a skilled instructor and/or mentor. Luke provides free coaching to junior golfers with limited financial support and strives to create lifelong relationships with all his clients.
