Luke specializes in the research and application of learning golf. He is especially interested in junior development programs and ways to make the game more intuitive for adults. Luke’s passion is learning (and teaching) the golf swing. He’s currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Minnesota where he is studying motor learning. In the very near future he’s going to begin research at the Minnesota Golf Academy for his thesis.

Luke is a TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) golf fitness expert and has 7 years of experience as a full time instructor and coach. Luke was the Head Women’s Golf coach at St. Olaf from 2006-2013. His team won MIAC Championships in 2012 and 2013 and was ranked top 10 nationally.

In his spare time, Luke enjoys traveling. In 2009-2010, he spent a winter in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan, where he designed a golf course, coached the Bhutan National Golf team, and won the 2009 Bhutan Open (the highest national open in the world: elevation 9,000 ft!).

As a player, Luke was a 3-time All American at Gustavus Adolphus College and has won more than 15 tournaments as a professional in MN and on various mini tours. In 2011, Luke finished tied for 2nd in the Minnesota Club Professionals Championship. In 2013, he once again qualified for the national Club Professionals Championship. As an accomplished player who has benefited tremendously from the guidance of others, Luke strongly believes in the value of finding a skilled instructor and/or mentor. Luke provides free coaching to junior golfers with limited financial support and strives to create lifelong relationships with all his clients.
